The Sons of Vecna is a circle of Necromancers whose sole purpose in life is to find the missing artifacts used by the ancient Necromancer Vecna and to attain Lichdom. Should they achieve their goal, they will have the power necessary to continue Vecna's will and lead an undead scurge to conquer the planet.
The cult's leader Drakel formed the cult to both find his father's long lost heirlooms and improve his effectiveness against the forces that threaten to destroy him. Should he fall, the entire cult would descent into chaos and disarray, leading to the end of The Sons.
After the Final Wars, it is currently unknown as to what happened to the cult.
